Mano,

The origin

The ball in this speciality is made of leather and is hit directly with the hand, which is fitted with some pads to protect the joints. It is practiced at an official level in two playing areas, trinquete and 36m fronton, and is primarily played by men in singles and doubles matches.

Nine national teams will participate in the four mano competitions of the World Championships Barcelona 2018. Spain is historically one of the strongest countries in fronton while France is equally as strong in trinquete.
