Pala-Paleta

The most demanding

This speciality group combines the competitions of paleta cuero, paleta goma and pala corta. Each speciality has its own bat and ball. The bats are always made of wood, but come in different sizes and weights. The balls can be made of leather or rubber and also come in different sizes and weights for each competition.

The playing area also varies from one speciality to another. Paleta cuero and paleta goma can be played in a fronton or trinquete, while pala corta is always played in a 36m fronton.

Only paleta goma, whether played in a trinquete or 30m fronton, has a women’s competition and is played as doubles. Conversely, it is played as singles in the men’s competition. The remaining pala-paleta specialities are played as doubles in the men’s competition.

The pala-paleta speciality has the most scheduled competitions in the programme of the World Championships Barcelona 2018.
