More than 300 Basque pelota players of 14 nationalities are set to meet in Barcelona this 14 to 20 October. They represent the world’s best, the major stars of the Basque Pelota World Championships Barcelona 2018. For seven days, the Olympic frontons of Vall d’Hebron and municipal frontons of Bac de Roda will bring together the elite of Basque pelota. It will be an intense week that will include 14 official competitions, with more than 160 matches among the four most spectacular specialities: hand, ja alai, bat-paddle and frontenis. The sound of the pelota ball ricocheting off the wall can already be heard across Barcelona. The countdown has indeed begun.
